Swim With Cheryl is run by Cheryl Goldrick, who has been teaching swimming for over 10 years. It is a passion of hers to ensure that every child learns to swim but also enjoys the experience of learning to swim.

About us

Swim With Cheryl pride ourselves in making sure all children feel safe and have fun during the lessons, whilst learning a valuable life skill which could one day save their lives. Cheryl herself learnt to swim from a very young age and holds the importance of this skill very close to her heart.

Cheryl also has a degree in psychology and is a low intensity CBT therapist and combines these two areas to ensure swimmers get the most out of sessions. Cheryl has also conducted research with The University of Hertfordshire looking into information processing in children and focused on children learning to swim and how teaching style can affect outcome and
progression.

Cheryl has worked in various settings helping people to improve their self-esteem, and we have found that children and adults taking part in our lessons not only take away the skill of learning to swim, but also become more confident in their every day lives. We use self-esteem
building materials to help children and adults become more confident and happy within themselves which allows them to engage better with the lessons and maximise improvement.

We specialise in working with very anxious children and adults and getting them to become at ease in the water. We are pleased to say that this approach has been very successful and within a few
lessons most children are happy to come and enjoy their class.

We offer a personalised and friendly service; we encourage parents to contact us to ask about how they can help their child’s swimming ability or what they can do when they go on holiday to improve
We are here to help and go above and beyond to ensure progress is made and children are motivated and encouraged to want to do well in their lessons.

All our teachers are full STA/ASA registered swimming teachers and all hold a life-saving/safety awards, are first aid trained and have full and enhanced DBS.

We are a small swim school and really like to get to know all the people we teach so we can tailor lessons to fit them!
